I found this tag over by Beth’s @ readingeverynight and I immediately thought I have to do it.. but which is really my favorite genre? Can I choose just one? The answer is NO, Absolutely not.. A while back I could have easily said Horror was my favorite (Back when I was a Teenager actually) But now as I’ve gotten older It’s harder to pick just one…
So to be fair with myself I decided to do Two versions of this tag with my two most read and favorite genres… FANTASY and ROMANCE… This is the Fantasy edition.. I hope you like it

Tag as many people as you want.
What’s your favourite genre?
I already explain in the intro that I basically suck at choosing anything I always have lots and lots of favorites..books, movies, music, TV series.. and yes I do have some particular inclinations so I decided to look back on my read books and on my TBR to try and find accurately (as much as I could) which was or were my most read.
I noticed two predominant genres, FANTASY and ROMANCE. They actually permeate the rest of the genres that I read.. So this are my two favorite genres to read and for the sake of this first version of the TAG we are going with FANTASY
Who is your favourite author from the genre?
What’s with the choosing.. come on… I have so many, from classic high fantasy like J.R.R. Tolkien to newer authors like Sarah J. Maas and Leigh Bardugo. And of course the more I read the more the list grows…it’s a never ending cicle.
What is it about the genre that keeps you pulling back?
When you read Fantasy you are able to get lost in unexplored lands, you become the wielder of magic, you fight battles alongside the characters, you walk alongside mythical creatures…you experience through books what you can’t do in real life. This Meme sums it up perfectly…
What’s the book that started your love for your favourite genre?
Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien.
If you had to recommend at least one book from your favourite genre to a non-reader/someone looking to start reading the genre, what would you choose and why?
This is really hard I would try to choose my recommendation based on what I know about the person, if it likes magic, dragons, intrigue mixed in the story, romance ..That way I could give an accurate suggestion because if I just tell them what my favorite is there’s always a chance that they might hate it..
Why do you read?
To escape reality… to decompress and relax from the mess that we call life.. basically that!!
This was my first version on This is My Genre Book Tag, How about you? Do You have multiple favorites like me? what is your Favotite genre? Let me Know all in the comments below.

Great answers for this tag, I love seeing other people who have picked fantasy as their favourite genre (or one of their favourite genres) because it’s my favourite as well. 🙂
I am a huge fan of Sarah J Maas and Leigh Bardugo. Also I definitely agree with you that choosing your favourite author is a never ending cycle. I always seem to find new authors to add to my ever-growing favourites list!
