I found this tag over @My World Of Books and since it just was the Academy Award weekend it fits perfectly for my Tag Monday… Only a heads up, I’m trying to give fresh answers (recent reads mostly) so I’m not always repeating myself over and over… So I hope you enjoy my answers and agree with my choices (mostly??)
The tag was originally created by BOOKadoodles!
(Best Male Protagonist)
This is a tough one… particularly for someone like me who can make a choice to save her life… So I’m going with my top for the moment in Contemporary and in Fantasy… It’s my prerogative .. so suck it.. Michael from the Kiss Quotient and Grey from A Curse so Dark and Lonely..
(Best Female Protagonist)
Hazel from Josh and Hazel’s guide to not dating.. she’s so unique and unapologetically herself and I love her..
(Best Plot Twist)
The Wicked King I kind of knew a betrayal was coming but not the way it played out…
Best Costume Design:
(Best Book Cover)
One that isn’t out yet but I freaking love …Sorcery of Thorns ..
Best Supporting Actress and Actor:
(Best Male and Female Sidekick)
The gang from Kill Switch.. I love them all.. even the ones I wasn’t so fond of before they just won me over in Kill Switch.
Best Original Screenplay:
(Most Unique Plot/World)
One world that I enjoyed a lot was Unearthed.. all the gadgets and the mix between archeological site and out of space experience was phenomenal.
Best Adapted Screenplay:
(Best Book-to-Movie Adaptation)
I’m not sure because I have seen a few but haven’t read the books so I can’t quite judge (and I don’t want to repeat myself with the usual answers) So Skip…
Best Animated Feature:
(A book that would work well in animated format)
The Poppy Wars (a very dark anime but it would be a cool one)
(A writer you discovered for the first time)
Brigid Kemmerer, I read A Curse so Dark and Lonely recently and it’s my first by her and certainly not my last..
Best Short Film:
(Best Novella or Short Book)
I have so many.. The Kiss Quotient (although it has a companion is a stand alone novel) Josh and Hazel’s guide to not dating, Wait for it, and I could go on and on… remember when I said that I have trouble picking things??..
(Best Historical Fiction)
This may be a cop-out sort of answer but since I’m sticking to recent reads in order to not repeat myself over and over again … my most recent Historical read was Beauty of the Beast by Rachel L. Demeter and it was a really surprising retelling..
Hope you guys enjoyed this tag and feel free to jump in the academy award waggon but don’t forget to tag me so I can see your answers..
