The Story

51JhFXG8l0LBeckett,

If you’re reading this, well, you know the last-letter drill. You made it. I didn’t. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there was any chance you could have saved me, you would have.

I need one thing from you: get out of the army and get to Telluride.

My little sister Ella’s raising the twins alone. She’s too independent and won’t accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me. It’s too much for anyone to endure. It’s not fair.

And here’s the kicker: there’s something else you don’t know that’s tearing her family apart. She’s going to need help.

So if I’m gone, that means I can’t be there for Ella. I can’t help them through this. But you can. So I’m begging you, as my best friend, go take care of my sister, my family.

Please don’t make her go through it alone.

Ryan

My Review

Let me start by saying this is my second time reading a Rebecca Yarros book, I had previously read her renegades series, which I enjoyed but it’s the complete opposite of this story, and I wasn’t even the slightest bit ready for the emotional wreck this book was going to make out of me… Okay, I’m warning you guys from someone who doesn’t cry easily this book made me tear up like you wouldn’t believe — People actually ask me if there was something wrong with me and looked at me like a crazy person when I said it was the book’s fault..

This book is about loyalty, loss, family, resilience, and overall hope… I don’t want to get into details because I truly believe that this is one of those stories that should be experienced without knowing almost nothing to begin with… It should be lived through and by the end you will be touched.. heartbroken.. sad.. happy and in love.. Honestly this book will put you through the ringer in the most amazing way possible..

“We can either breathe through the pain or we can let it shape us.”

You are going to love all the characters, the pacing, the romance, the interactions, their struggles… every little thing about it… Just keep in mind to have your tissues handy or it will get ugly..

As Always

Happy Reading
