I can never seem to catch up on the reviews I want to post… kind of like what happens with my reading I’ll never be able to read all the books I want to… but I’ll give it my best shot that’s for sure…

Anyway, let’s not get to far away from the topic with my usual ramblings… I wanted to talk a bit about some recent reads of mine (some mood picks and some from my readathons) They all left an impression (Good or Bad?? You’ll soon find out)…

Let’s begin the ranting/gushing…

This book…(take a deep breath) I honestly tried… I did… but it was so childish… It had an interesting concept … It’s a “bully” type romance with some enemies to lovers thrown in but the first reason that the main guy chose to bully the girl was stupid… It changed later on because there was real conflict between their families and such (don’t want to spoil it for those who chose to read this) .. But even if that was kind of interesting how they acted was annoying to me… it didn’t make sense at times… it was like flipping a switch … I couldn’t even finnish the book… I gave up at 67% … So, if it does get better beyond that …I don’t care… It was my disappointing book this month..

Author: C.D. Reiss

My Review

3.5

Going in … I didn’t know what this book was about at all, And once I started I was intrigued.. I had an inkling of what was going to happen because this is told in dual timelines and you get glimpses of the past — and to be honest those were the best part for me… the relationship between Gabriel and Carrie, their instant chemistry and attraction… you actually feel it through the pages and that’s what C.D. Reiss does… her writing is simply beautiful…

Then we get to the issues that work against this book … In a way I know that we weren’t truly supposed to love this characters, they are flawed each in their own way but I still wanted to feel more of a kinship with them and what they were going through particularly Carrie… At one point in the story they just felt flat to me… they went from interesting to cliché… and that hurt the story.. in the end it didn’t quite pack the punch I was expecting from it..

This is the highlight of these mini reviews… This book I loved… all of it, even if it had some of the tropy “I didn’t knew I was attracted to guys” I just didn’t care about that because of how everything develops… It’s great how we get to see both their relationships progress — the one where they don’t know who each other is in real life — and the real day-to-day one they have in their Frat House… It’s great, Flesh out characters, heartfelt story,  funny, steamy hot, and addicting… I loved this book.. It had everything I need it..

Hope you guys enjoyed my ranting/gushing reviews of these books and let me know in the comments if you have read any and what you thought about them… Let’s discuss..

As Always

Happy Reading
