Hello fellow bookworms, I have been remiss on my reviews lately for personal reasons and I’m still catching up on those that I was asked for … Sorry about that, hopefully things will get better soon and I’ll feel like I’m actually making progress and not scrambling to catch up… just kidding, I love halping out with reviews and promo whenever I can..
And I’m particularly excited this time around.. We have Dragons people, and knights and magic and legends all that fun stuff… Curious??
The Search for Synergy by Brett Salter
I don’t usually read Middle Grade books, I’m often hesitant of their content (would it be appealing to me?.. I’m far from that age range even if i don’t look it .. kidding) In this case I’m glad that I decided to bypass that hesitancy and dive into this adventure.
It was exactly what I need it. It’s fun, easy to read and interesting enough for any age in my opinion..
Who doesn’t want to fight to save humanity right along your Dragon friend, right?
This is a coming of age story, finding out who you are and where you belong, with the help of those who are important to you. Of course that having also magic and Arthurian legends surrounding that process makes it much more entertaining..
Friendship is one of the key points of this story.. It’s so.. real, and pure. I truly love Julian and Rome (our guys). they are fun and quirky and sarcastic but not over the top at all just perfectly balanced humour at the right time… And they support each other when they need to.. I truly loved that, it’s what makes it feel so relatable.
This is one heck of a fun ride, you feel like a kid while reading and putting yourself in their shoes fighting the enemies that are trying to come through the void and training to become a knight, or figuring out your powers as a dragon… it leaves enough to the imagination in terms of world building and overall descriptions.. and it doesn’t have information dumps or anything truly complicated.. But it’s still intriguing enough to keep you hooked..
I do think it’s for a wider Middle grade age range, it would be easy for a kid to read but some expressions and situations might be off-putting to parents of young children (even if the kids themselves will have no issue with them.. Kids are way ahead of us)
I will continue with their journey.. I want to know what happens next…
If you enjoy fantasy, dragons, knights and heroic tales for all ages give this book a try..
