Hey fellow bookworms!, I think it was last week (I apologize but I hardly know what date it is today..) I posted a discussion about Popular trends we’ll be getting for 2022 (It’s here if you want to check it out). And that got me thinking about some that used to be top-tier but aren’t anymore, and others that haven’t even got a chance to rise up..
So I wanted to share with you a few of those; I would love to read books with these settings, themes, tropes; a little more… Some can be found if you search hard enough…So I’ll give you a few recs as well if you want to check them out and join my Wishful trend bandwagon…
Winter Sports (Mainly Figure Skating and Snowboarding)
With the Winter Olympics around the corner I would love to read Sport Romance that doesn’t solely focus on Football, Soccer, and Hockey… Why not more Figure Skating? It can be angsty and demanding as well as any other sport … or why not Extreme Snowboarding if you want a more risky venture?… If you want to check out a few with these setting…
Arts (mainly Dance and Illustrators)
These were popular (a little) back in 2014 or 2015 and to be honest I love reading about the struggles to be a Dancer… the competitiveness, the effort it takes and so many things that you have to sacrifice to meet your goal.
As for Illustrators, there’s a few books about painters like Confess by Colleen Hoover but not that many that focus on Comic creators, or even manga artists… Why is that? Is that a discipline that cannot be turned interesting? I beg to differ…
My recs for these are:
Squid Games like survival Books
I did a post about this topic last year but, I guess I’m still stuck on wanting to read more life threatening survival like books… and even if some fantasies have a little of that is not enough adrenaline kick for my twisted heart..
On the Run with a Price on my head Adventure
A few years ago I was hooked on a Sci/Fi series with this premise and I miss that emotion of trying to clean your name while running for your life.. it’s freaking exciting.. and it can easily fit any genre..
How about you guys? which are the book trends that wish were more popular, or that made a huge come back? let me know in the comments below…
