Hey Fellow bookworms, I have for you today a sweet and short review about an uplifting and with not much drama kind of story.. I think we need that in our lives from time to time, so here’s hoping you decide to check this one out..
The Cabin that Shaped my Summer by Rich Rubin
I’m giving this book 3.75 stars, but since we know that Goodreads doesn’t do .75 or anything like that.. let’s round it up to 4.
This was a fun summer read. A coming of age story with budding romances here and there.
I enjoyed the characters and their camaderie. The idea of getting together with your childhood friends after being away at college is always a bit bittersweet to me. And in this book it was done very well.
I did have a bit of an issue with how fast the Romance developed. I understand that they have been friends since they were kids, but I would have liked it to be more drawn out.. at least the turn into a romantic relationship.
However, it’s not a huge deterrent to the enjoyment of the story.
I also loved the setting .. I’m a sucker for the cabin in the woods retreat… for many genres.
If you are looking for a fun, lighthearted, fast read.. pick this one up.
