Hey Fellow Bookworms, I’m sorry that my posting schedule has been as steady as I would have liked… I’m actually behind on reviews and other things but you guys know how it is.. Real life sucks you in and it’s hard to get back on track.
Anyway I’m trying to get there, I promise, I have recommendations lined up and my usual rantings so stay tuned… For now let’s talk about a cute and fluffy romance something we all need to decompress from time to time.
The Last Lap by Christy Hayes
I’m used to reading a lot more spicy books, as many of you know.. if you have been following me for a while. That’s not to say that I look down or shy away from those books that are more of a lighter read (like this one).
This is the perfect read to take your mind off your problems for a while and just dive in to cute and sweet.. very well balanced with a couple of life messages that do pack a punch.
Megan is such a relatable character and I could see myself in many aspects of her… the need to do her best for her and her niece despite the hand she has been dealt with, her interactions and blooming relationship with Bryan, and finally, her decision to put herself a little first was a heartwarming character development.
Bryan is a cinnamon roll… he’s a nurturer, a protector and I love how he just wants to be there for Megan and help her through anything.. Like I said, the sweetest cinnamoon roll.
I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to feel warm and fuzzy, and who is just looking for a fast, fun and sweet read.
I will be checking more of Christy’s work for sure.
